The amendment rules have been designed by the bank to align with the standards set by PASA. Please note that the FAQs has been updated to include specific scenarios related to Ignition. We encourage all clients to review the documented rules to familiarize themselves with the categories outlined below:
0226 – Amendments that do not require re-authentication from the end customer. The bank will simply notify the customer of the changes, such as when a debtor account number is updated, but the account remains with the same bank and branch.
0227 – Amendments that require the end customer to re-authenticate the mandate through their banking app. Typically, the customer has until the end of the day to respond. Examples include changes to debit day, short name, or instances where changes are made more frequently than the adjustment category allows, such as when annual changes occur more than twice within the year.
New – This will initiate a new mandate, requiring the customer to authenticate the amendment. Examples include changes to the collection frequency (e.g., from annually to monthly) or alterations to customer ID numbers.
