Understanding What an External Source Is

An external source refers to any input or event that originates outside the engAIge system and triggers a specific response or action within it. Essentially, it acts as a catalyst for activating predefined workflows or processes, based on interactions or data received from third-party systems or applications.




Login to your engAIge account

Click Settings

Click Data Sources > View All

Click Add External Source

 

Complete the name and description fields (No spaces allowed)


Click Save


Your External Source has now been created

The external source is assigned a External Source ID which will stay the same whenever this external source is used


 

Click on more > Analytics as seen in the above image


In the URL, you can see your external source ID for this external source created.




This external source ID will stay constant, however each time a new event is added to the source - the event ID will be unique. The event here will refer to a new automation created using this external source
